Wading Into Flood Risk: Research Efforts in Imperial Beach and San Diego Bay
June 24, 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Please join the California Coastal Resilience Network on Wednesday, June 24th, from 1:30-2:30pm as we host researchers from the Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation (CCCIA) at Scripps Institution of Oceanography to discuss their work in Imperial Beach and San Diego Bay.
Using local-scale observations and modeling, researchers are identifying how various wave, water levels, tide and beach elevation conditions contribute to how and when different locations flood. These San Diego Bay and Imperial Beach case studies seek to demonstrate how nearshore monitoring and enhanced flood assessments can help communities effectively design adaptation responses to both storm events and sea-level rise. This event will feature three panelists from CCCIA.
